Twitter Sign Up Instructions

We ask that all our Dangerous Disciples and their Parents to sign up to recieve our twitters. We send out twitters of our events, inforamtion, updates, and when we return home from events. We will not be sending out daily twitters except during Falls Creek (summer camp), so please do not worry about an overload of tweets coming your way on a daily bases.

Sign-Up is simple.

Step One. 
    Go to www.twitter.com

Step Two. 
    On the right hand side of the page it says New to Twitter? Join today!
    Fill out your full name, email, and password. 
    Then click sign up

Step Three
    This step will tell you if you need to change anything. 
    This step you will create a username - which is what people see. 
    It's the last little box below your password - create a username that you like
    Then click on Create My Account.

Step Four
    Go through the little tour - pressing next.

Step Five
    Follow Freely - To get someone's tweets, click the follow button. 
    In the box type grbc_youth and press enter on your keyboard. 
    It will say - Darrell Ring @grbc_youth - Click Follow 
    You can also search for anyone else you know here 
        The youth minister's wife is - Kimberly_Ring 
If you do not wish to have anymore then click skip this step>> which is right below the box full of people's names.

Step Six
    This will let you browse by categories you can search for people or you can click skip this step>>

Step Seven
    Find People you know 
    This step will allow twitter to search your email contacts securely for people you know. If you wish to do this just click your email host such as yahoo, hotmail, gmail, or aol. 
    If you do not wish to do this click - skip this step>>

Step Eight
    Confirm your email address to access all of Twitter's features. 
    Go to your email address and find the twitter confirmation email and click the link within the email.

Step Nine 
    Settings
    As you can see, we haven't given our phone numbers yet. Therefore twitter at this point cannot send you in twitters to your phone. We also need to set the privacy settings if you so desire.

    In the top right hand corner there is a little outline of a persons head and shoulders, click that and then scroll down and click on settings. 

Step Ten
    The first tab is account and we are going to scroll down to Tweet Privacy. 
    If you want you can protext your tweets. 
    If you do this only people you approve will follow you. If you click, your future tweets will not be shown publicly. 
    Then click Save.

Step Eleven
    Scroll to the top of the page and click on Mobile - If you wish to turn on the mobile setting, which sends tweets to your phone. 
    Fill out your phone number and click on the box if you would like people to search for you by your phone number. 
    Then click Start

Step Twelve 
    Scroll back to the top and click on Notifications - this is what is sent do you to your email. 
    Messages
            Direct Messages are messages sent to you much like messages on facebook. 
            Reply and Mentioned - replys are when people reply to your tweets and Mentioneds are when people mention you in their tweets. 
    Updates
            I would turn off the occasional updates abot new twitter products and product or service updates related to twitter.

Step 13
